The Maché™ ranunculus varieties in the Bicolor Mix flower from early to mid spring. Borne on long 10- to 12-inch stems above a mound of lush, feathery, parsley-like foliage, the romantic, fully double blooms—with layers and layers of ruffled, papery white petals with pink or purple tips—look like a cross of a peony and a tea rose. They make elegant, long-lasting cut flowers for spring bouquets and mixed floral arrangements.

The Ranunculus asiaticus varieties, commonly called Persian buttercup, in the Maché Bicolor Mix are a seed-grown strain, best grown as annuals. The plants have a uniform upright habit that works well in beds, borders, and especially, containers. Long favored by florists, ranunculus are a must-have in a cutting garden.

Maché Bicolor Mix varieties perform best in climates with long, cool springs and relatively mild winters. They prefer sunny locations that receive at least 6 hours of full sun, but they do tolerate some shade. The soil should be sandy, slightly acidic, and moist; but excellent drainage is essential.
