All-America Selections (AAS) Ornamental Winner 2025; Fleuroselect Approved Novelty Award 2025

Flamma Pink celosia is a semi-dwarf annual plant that grows 16 to 18 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide at maturity and blooms from late spring through late fall, typically until first frost. Blooming heavily and uniformly, Flamma Pink puts on a sensational show of spiky, pyramidal pink plumes that stay bright without fading and stand up to heavy rain. Nectar rich, they attract pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and occasionally, hummingbirds. Borne on strong, erect stems, the feathery flowers are long-lasting in garden or vase, making excellent cuts for floral arrangements, fresh cut or dried. Harvest mature blooms in the morning after the dew has evaporated for best results.

A Celosia argentea (Plumosa Group), commonly called feather celosia, plumed celosia, or feathered amaranth, Flamma Pink celosia has a compact, bushy habit with basal branching and strong secondary heads. Grouped or massed, it offers sweeps of vibrant color in beds and borders, but it's also a great option for low edging, containers, and window boxes. Flamma Pink celosia is a must-have in pollinator and cutting gardens.

Flamma Pink celosia grows best in a sunny spot with humusy, nutrient-rich, consistently moist, freely draining soil. It stands up exceptionally well to heat, humidity, and drought once established. Few pests or diseases bother celosia. It is an easy-grow, low-maintenance plant, but deadheading regularly, although not required, keeps celosia blooming.

Sow Flamma Pink celosia seed directly into warm soil after the last frost date in spring. Or start celosia seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date and transplant after all threat of frost has passed. Celosia's delicate root systems must be handled with care. Transplanting should not be delayed: holding plugs in trays too long stunts future development and may cause premature budding. Using the Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit to start Flamma Pink celosia seeds indoors allows you to control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
